As the year comes to a close, I find myself looking back on the incredible journey of 2024—a year filled with creativity, challenges, and accomplishments in the world of miniature painting, 3D modelling and print-on-demand designs. For over 35 years, I’ve been passionately crafting and painting miniatures, but this past year has been extraordinary. With new designs, detailed creations, and exciting collaborations, DressArt3D.com has truly grown. Today, I want to share a recap of the modeling works done in 2024, express my gratitude, and give you a sneak peek into what’s coming in 2025!
Commissions:
During 2024 I have been commissioned 25 times the bulk of which were restoration projects on Warhammek 40k and Weta Lord of the Rings figures. The highligh for 2024 was the life size 2.75m / 9 foot long Balrog sword. This beast tool an entire 3 months summer long to fully paint to my and the client full satisfaction.

Notable Projects from 2024
Adeptus Custodes Vertus Praetors
This Warhammer 40k set was one of our top projects. The intricate detailing and custom bases made these miniatures stand out. Each piece tells its own story, and the response from our customers has been overwhelming.
“The attention to detail in these miniatures made them a favorite among collectors and gamers alike.”
Available exclusively at DressArt3D.com, these are a must-have for any Warhammer fan.
Aragorn’s Tomb
Inspired by The Lord of the Rings, this project came to life in three stunning variations: white, grey, and beige marble. This piece showcases a blend of intricate 3D modeling and high-quality materials, creating a display-worthy tribute to Middle-earth.
Fili’s Knife Replica
Taking inspiration from The Hobbit, this 1:1 scale replica has been a labor of love. The craftsmanship and exquisite painting highlight the magic of Middle-earth, and it’s been a joy to see collectors adding this piece to their displays.
3-in-1 Mystical Gateway Portal
This versatile model has been a favorite among tabletop gamers. Designed to function as a mystical gateway, well, or Earth’s icon, it’s a testament to our commitment to pushing creative boundaries.
Smaller-Scale Miniatures
We also introduced several tabletop miniatures this year, including;
Each of these models was 3d modelled, crafted and painted with utmost precision and detail by Ronin074, offering collectors and gamers unique additions to their setups.
Overcoming Challenges in 2024
This year wasn’t without its hurdles. One of the toughest moments was when the Hessian Sword Replica—a project that had consumed weeks of work—broke during assembly. At first, I was heartbroken, but after stepping away for a weekend, I decided to take on the challenge of restoring it and yes today I can tell that the restoration was successfully finished and you will be seen an article on how I did it after this one.
This experience reminded me that setbacks are part of the creative process. With patience and determination, even broken pieces can come back stronger—something I hope inspires others in their projects.

Love seeing how your projects evolve! Do you have plans to work on more movie-inspired replicas in 2025?
At the moment I have no plans but inspiration may come and when it call I must respond.
Amazing work in 2024! The Sleepy Hollow sword looks incredible. Can’t wait to see what’s coming next!
What an incredible year of projects! I’ve been in the miniature painting and 3D printing hobby for over a decade, and your work stands out as some of the best I’ve seen. The attention to detail, the creative problem-solving, and the willingness to push boundaries really make DressArt3D something special.
I was especially impressed by the Sleepy Hollow Headless Horseman Sword restoration. Many would have scrapped the project after a break like that, but your method of reinforcing the connection with metal pins and carefully realigning the fuller line was genius. I’ve had a few prints break on me, and now I’ll be applying your approach to future repairs.
Looking ahead to 2025, I’m very excited to hear about your new miniatures, especially the Land Shark and Mind Trouble Maiden. Are these going to be fully original sculpts, or will they be inspired by existing fantasy creatures? Also, do you plan to expand into sci-fi or cyberpunk themes?
Lastly, I love that you’re offering print-on-demand designs! It’s a great way for the community to support your work beyond just miniatures. Will you be doing limited edition designs, or will they always be available? Thanks for sharing your journey—I’ll be following along in 2025!
The land shark and Mind Trouble Maiden are both inspired by existing fantasy creatures. Yes I am planning to eventually expand in sci-fi. There might be special editions in the future but I prefer to have my merch available for all.
This article was a fantastic look back at everything you accomplished in 2024! I’ve been following your work throughout the year, and seeing projects like the Adeptus Custodes miniatures and the Fili’s Knife come to life has been inspiring. I appreciate how you share the ups and downs, especially the setback with the Hessian Sword. Many people only showcase their successes, but showing the problem-solving process behind restoring a broken 3D print was invaluable.
As someone who’s been painting miniatures for a couple of years, I’m curious—what’s your approach to painting metallic surfaces like your Sleepy Hollow sword? I’ve experimented with different chrome and metallic paints, but I struggle to get that realistic shine without making it look too artificial. Do you have any specific techniques or products you swear by?
Also, I saw you’re launching print-on-demand designs next year. Will these feature your original artwork, or will they be inspired by existing models in your collection? Looking forward to seeing what’s next for DressArt3D in 2025!
Just in time. Today I published an article on how I painted the sleepy hollow Headless Horseman replica sword which besides the eyes of the snake head pommel is all metallic. All the details are there.
I feature both original and inspired artwork on my print on demand merch.
